1 – STUNNING LOCATIONS
One of the (many) things Scotland is known for is incredible locations. Beautiful beaches, amazing mountains and gorgeous landscapes, we really do have it all here. From the glens and highlands to rugged Crear as well as the imposing islands of Skye, Mull and Shetland. When it comes to nature in all its untamed glory you’d be hard pushed to beat Scotland.
And that’s not even including our bustling, photogenic towns and cities like Edinburgh, St Andrews, Glasgow and Inverness.

2 – INCREDIBLE VENUES
Picture a Scottish wedding and you’ll think remote ruined castles or ceremonies halfway up a mountain. And yes, we do those very well, but that’s not the whole story.
Scotland is jam packed with incredible wedding venues. Want to go rustic? Check out one of our many DIY barn venues. Feel like taking over your own country manor for the weekend? Be our guest! And if you want something off beat and ultra cool then there are plenty of your not so typical venues to choose from. From converted mills to industrial warehouses and elegant city centre hotels. There really is something for everyone.
3 – WHERE HISTORY MEETS CULTURE
There’s no denying that Scotland has centuries of history. Myths, legends and incredible stories of daring deeds and heroic acts are a big draw for couples from all over the world.
You can get married in castles that are over 700 years old, or wander the back streets of Edinburgh marvelling at the parts of the city that were awarded World Heritage status. Our lochs and glens have links to clans dating back hundreds of years. There is history almost everywhere you turn.
But there’s more to Scotland than its past. Our wee country prides itself on progressive thinking and its approach to the future. We are incredibly diverse and there’s a warm welcome waiting for everyone who comes to explore our part of the world.
4 – WHEREVER, WHENEVER …

In Scotland you can get married wherever and whenever you like. Yes, really. If you dream of saying your vows in a remote moorland on Skye then go for it! Fancy a loch shore ceremony? It’s yours! There is so much flexibility when it comes to your wedding location, especially if you’re eloping. The only restrictions are respect and common sense.
You also have a great deal of choice with the timing of your ceremony. Sunrise to sunset and even late into the night. In Scotland you have the freedom to decide on the timings that work best for you, in consultation with your venue and suppliers of course if needed.
