TELL US ABOUT YOU TWO + YOUR WEDDING JOURNEY

We met in high school and were together for 11 years before we decided to get married! We knew we wanted our wedding day to be filled with light, colour and laughter. Loch Lomond is so close to where we live, so we loved the idea of getting married there and kept our fingers crossed for an outdoor ceremony!
When we viewed Boturich Castle their pavilion was still a building site. However, the team there are so friendly and reassuring. They made us feel completely at ease and we were confident they would be able to deliver the venue of our dreams.
Sure enough the new and improved Boturich Castle was everything we dreamed of, and more.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR OUTFITS

Claire wanted something simple, timeless and classic. Aimee Bridal Couture made finding her dress such a relaxed and fun experience. The dream dress was “Miller” by Evie Young and felt amazing.
Ross and his groomsmen wore MacGregor & Macduff’s “Harris Mist” tartan.
The bridesmaid dresses were Victoria Lou Bridal’s multiway dress. All the girls were in different shades of pink/purple, each choosing the colour that suited them best. The dresses also had to accommodate two growing bumps so the multiway was perfect!
TELL US ABOUT YOUR CEREMONY

The Scottish weather held up and we got the outdoor ceremony we had wished for! Loch Lomond made for a stunning backdrop and the whole ceremony was perfect.
Our amazing celebrant, Gail Brack, put together a ceremony that was full of love and laughter. Made all the more special when Claire’s mum read a poem she wrote for us.
TELL US ABOUT THE RECEPTION

Our table names were artists/bands that have been important to us throughout our relationship. On the tables were lyrics from some of “our songs” and others we thought fitted well with our day.
If guests heard their table name song playing then the whole table got their choice of shot courtesy of the bride and groom! It was so much fun watching people realise that the song was playing and taking their shots!
For place settings Claire’s mum hand painted stones and pebbles for every guest. Guests absolutely loved them and they also doubled as favours.
We made a personalised word search for our guests to complete over the whole day. The answers were made up from our journey together. As friends and family knew us from different times in both our lives we felt everyone was able to contribute and it was a great conversation starter!

Don’t stress too much about the weather, it is out of your control! What will be will be.
We invested so much time into planning every part of the day and focused on making sure guests enjoyed themselves. Remember though, your guests are there to celebrate you. They will bring the party however and wherever you choose, so trust in your choices and plan the day you want!
