Lavender Blue is run by Gemma Lavender. Dedicated to creating quirky, fun and colourful alternative weddings that stand out from the norm. Based on the outskirts of Edinburgh, servicing the Central Belt of Scotland and the surrounding areas.
Lavender Blue began after Gemma planned her own wedding, which she loved every second of organising; she made spreadsheets for everything and had lists coming out her ears! Gemma was in her absolute element. On honeymoon, she wondered what on earth she was going to do when she got home… this is when the idea of Lavender Blue was born!
Gemma really loves everything about her job and enjoys seeing everything come together on the day. She is a big softy and almost always cries at the weddings she coordinates! Mainly, because she genuinely cares about her client’s special day and looks forward to it just as much as them.
Gemma especially enjoys working on quirky, fun and colourful weddings that stand out from the norm and she loves being able to recommend the many amazing, local suppliers she works alongside, that are trusted to deliver the best service.

Gemma Lavender is my hero. I am not a planner to the point my partner and I seriously considered eloping to the courthouse, but we really wanted to take the opportunity to have everyone we loved together in a room (especially as our family and friends are rather far-flung) so when we overheard a friend saying they had just hired a wedding planner we jumped to get the name. Gemma was fantastic every step of the day. She tailored her services to the unique nature of our day (or days, I should say) and made everything feel simple and easy. She was such a calming presence and made everything go perfectly – even checking in with us after the wedding to make sure we were settling in and that there was nothing else that needed her attention. We even had a huge problem and had to find a new venue a few months out and Gemma did everything she could to calm us and present us with options – and now I wouldn’t change how things turned out! As to the event itself – no one came to me with questions and I felt like I was floating, allowing the day to pull me along, rather than worrying about what was coming next. Gemma is such a lovely person and a true pleasure to work with. We cannot thank her enough!

I cannot speak highly enough of Gemma and everything she did for us on the lead up to, and on our wedding day. As someone who loves organising I wasn’t sure if I needed a wedding planner because I wanted to do a lot of the planning myself, but was worried about forgetting the little details and making sure everything came together on the day. Gemma took all that stress away from us by contacting all our suppliers and making sure everything was in place on the days leading up to the wedding, (as well as Christmas!) We are so grateful as it meant we could enjoy the festive period and all the excitement with our family and friends on the lead up. The day before Gemma was onsite to help with everything from setting up/dressing the venue, to managing that relationship with suppliers and giving us much needed words of advice. There is absolutely no doubt that our day could have gone as smoothly as it did without Gemma being on hand. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Gemma to anyone who, like me, wants to enjoy the planning of their wedding but needs help with the finer details and on the day coordinating. She absolutely smashed it and we will forever be grateful for all your help!
