A FINE ART BRIDAL SHOOT AT CHATELHERAULT HOUSE
FEATURING
During the low of lockdown, a dream team of Scottish wedding suppliers came together to give themselves a creative boost. The result was this romantic, modern and elegant shoot, which very nearly didn’t happen as weddings got the green light again and it was suddenly all go!
WFIL Wedding Collection member Stephanie Gallen, who designed these incredible headdresses, filled us in on the behind-the-scenes chat. Prepare to fall in love…
Tell us about the inspiration behind the shoot…
After what was an awful year for everyone, we wanted to pull together a team of talented Scottish suppliers as a bit of a boost for ourselves really, to show that we could still create something beautiful in the midst of all the uncertainty and postponed orders.
As it turns out, by the time we got the shoot together, weddings had blown up again and we were all incredibly busy – very nearly pulling the whole thing. However, the stars aligned and we managed to find a date we could all do, and so our fine art shoot went ahead, allowing us to showcase some glorious modern bridal wear and the beautiful venue at Chatelherault.
And how did you go about styling it?
The plan had always been to create a fine art style shoot with plenty of drama. Chatelherault, and its historic rooms straight out of a period drama, provided the perfect stage.
Gowns from Olive Jones Bridal in Edinburgh ticked the drama box – oversized puffed sleeves and collars from KWH Bridal and Jesus Peiro respectively, and romantic modern one shoulder from Love Story were just perfect.
The headpieces featured pearls and silk – traditional but with a modern twist, and makeup was kept fresh and natural.
The neutral, fresh colour palette was complemented by wild greenery and florals by Curious Arrangement. The neutral tone also extended to the wedding stationery, which was crisp and modern with a touch of florals and romantic calligraphy.
We love seeing folks come together to create like this. Especially during this past couple of years – so inspiring! x
