Covid restrictions update for Scotland
FEATURING
June 23rd 2021 – If all goes to plan, weddings with dancing, singing and mingling will be able to take place in Scotland again from August 9th.
Mainland Scotland is expected to enter Level 0 on July 19th (three weeks later than previously anticipated). And the hope is to lift remaining restrictions from August 9th. Meanwhile, many island communities are already in Level 0.
Another welcome development sees wedding suppliers being excluded from the number limit from June 28th.
And restrictions on physical distancing are due to be lifted on July 19th (subject to confirmation). This means that no distancing will be required in outdoor spaces at weddings. Indoors, physical distancing is due to be fixed at one metre across all venue types. Only 1m distancing will be required at ceremonies.
Once remaining restrictions are lifted (expected to be from August 9th), this will also mean that weddings as we previously knew them – with dancing, singing and mingling – will return.
Like you, we’re keeping everything crossed that Covid doesn’t throw any more curveballs into the mix!
We’ll be taking a break until July 12th to rest and recharge (it’s been a looooong year+ of this!), so keep an eye on the Scottish Government websites for updates meantime. More changes tend to trickle in after each announcement.
