We are excited to introduce you to the next members of the exclusive 2020 newlyweds club! Jen and Kate cut their guest list down to 17 in order to go ahead with their October wedding. After a really hard year, it felt wonderful to end 2020 as wife and wife.
“We met being involved in roller derby. I’d been with the first team we played for – Mean City Roller Derby for about three months when Kate joined.
“We were friends for a year before I plucked up the courage (liquid courage that is) to ask her out at a teammate’s wedding. Thankfully she reciprocated the feelings.”
“I joined the WFILcircle on Facebook in the lead up to the wedding and found it a really reassuring, friendly place for people to discuss the ever-changing restrictions and our worries and fears.
“It was so nice to see when other people’s weddings went ahead too, planning a wedding with all the unknown and during a pandemic is definitely a unique experience.”
“It might have not been what we originally planned but it was a beautiful day and everyone had a lovely time. The weather was terrible the whole week of the wedding and Kate had really wanted the photoshoot outdoors, and by some luck on the day the skies cleared and we even managed to get the family photos outside.”
