Summer is starting to fly by and we’ve been trying to make the most of the long, sunny days and festival-filled nights while we can. From hiking in Highland Perthshire to eating fish and chips on the Fife coast and sipping cocktails in the cobbled streets of Edinburgh, there’s so much to do in Scotland at this time of year! So we can understand if you’ve missed some of the incredible wedding stories we’ve featured these past few weeks. Here’s your chance to catch up, with our five favourite photos of the month…
1. DESTINATION DRAMS
From their ceremony by a stone circle and waterfall in The Fairy Glen to the drams of Talisker that followed, Katherine and Payam’s Isle of Skye wedding left us longing for a romantic island stay of our own.
This photo by Lynne Kennedy Photography captures the feel of their day beautifully.
2. THE ONE WITH THE DRAGON BOAT RACE
With an outdoor ceremony, wild & unruly flowers, a bride vs groom team dragon boat race, 1,000 paper cranes and a ceilidh in a boat shed, Annie & Matt’s alternative wedding on the edge of Galloway Forest Park was all about embracing the location and having an action packed weekend.
We love this moment, when they snuck away from the party for some photos in the golden evening light. Photo by Elemental Photography.
3. JUST MARRIED VIBES
Much as we’re enjoying summer, we loved getting to share the twinkling lights and winter magic in Sheelagh and Jamie’s Edinburgh wedding. From Sheelagh’s incredible bespoke dress to the seriously beautiful flowers, and all the smiles and laughter along the way, there was so much to love about their day.
This perfectly timed photo by First Light Photography sums up that just married feeling perfectly.
4. A TEA CEREMONY & CEILIDH DANCING
Inspired by their favourite places and pursuits, Kelly and Duncan’s DIY-filled celebration took place in a historic house in the south-west of Scotland. From the Chinese tea ceremony to the traditional Scottish ceilidh dancing, they combined their lives and cultures into a day that they describe as an absolute whirlwind of emotion and fun.
We love the way Mack Photo has captured the joining of two families and cultures here.
5. A QUICK DIP
Jade and Antoni were seeking a sense of calm when they found Luskentyre Beach on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides. Inspired by nature and the great outdoors, they were married on the spectacular white sand beach.
This photo of them having a post-ceremony paddle, by Margaret Soraya, made us smile!
A huge thank you to all the lovely couples who shared their photos with us. If you’d like to see your wedding feature on We Fell In Love, here’s where to tell us all about your day. x
