Photos Of The Month

Can anyone remember ever experiencing a summer like this here in Scotland?! If, like us, you’ve been busy trying to cool down with beer and Magnums, then you may not have noticed June slipping by. Not only did the sun shine on and on, but your beautiful weddings made us smile lots too. Here are our five favourite photos of the month…

1. CONFETTI CANONS

There are so many things we love about Jemma & Phil’s vintage-inspired wedding – the romantic old church their Humanist ceremony took place in, all the greenery, Jemma’s incredible dress, their reception venue (the Dissection Room at Summerhall in Edinburgh) – the list goes on and on!

Given the story behind how they met and their first dance (to their favourite swing song), this photo by Alice the Camera is one of our (many!) favourites from their day. Who wouldn’t want to join this party…

2. A MOMENT OF CALM

Morgan was one of our guest bloggers last year and we all loved following her journey from self-confessed anxious bridezilla to chilled bride. She married Frazer on a beautiful autumn day at Altskeith House, on the shore of Loch Ard in the Trossachs.

This photo by Ewa Labuda perfectly sums up one of their favourite moments of the day.

3. LEAP OF FAITH

Claire and Mark took a leap of faith and booked their venue while it was still at the planning stage, becoming the very first couple to be married at GG’s Yard in Dumfries & Galloway. With the help of family and friends, plus an incredible team of suppliers, they planned their day from 250 miles away, embracing rich winter colours and rustic styling. We love the way their photos and film tell the story of their day.

Not quite sure what’s going on here on the dancefloor, but we kinda love it!

4. JUST MARRIED FEELS

With the annual Pride march taking place in Edinburgh last month (the Glasgow festival is scheduled for July 14th & 15th), we thought this would be the perfect time to look back on a few of our favourite LGBTQ+ weddings. These stories make us proud to live in a progressive country that celebrates love in all its diversity.

This is one of our favourite ceremony photos of all time. It was love at first sight when Brent and Julian’s eyes met over a jelly bean machine. And the smiles captured here by Nicola Stewart Photography just say it all!

5. HAPPINESS IN A PHOTO

Lauren and Sean chose to get married in Scotland so they could have a highly-personal, legally binding humanist ceremony. Their wedding goal was a big, informal party that everyone would enjoy, with great food, shots of whisky and lots of personal touches.

This photo by Suzanne Li gave us all the feels!

So much to love! And July is already looking to be every bit as amazing… If you’d like to see your wedding feature on We Fell In Love, here’s where to tell us all about your day. x
