10 honeymoon essentials

Heading off on your holidays or the dream honeymoon you’ve been saving up for? Pack light, but pack right is our advice. Here are 10 things we won’t be leaving home without this summer…

A good book

As a serial re-reader, I love to travel with a book that I’ve already enjoyed – that way I find it easier to follow the action when I’m tired on a flight and low on concentration. A few of my favourites to re-immerse myself in are The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer and The Gracekeepers by Kirsty Logan.

Big hat

We don’t get to wear these nearly enough at home (too windy!), so like to break out a wide brim hat  – like this one from Oliver Bonas (£24) – when in warmer climes.

Stylish sandals

For making the transition from beach to bar, we love Lito Pearl by Ancient Greek Sandals (£135).

Beach bag

This  Skinnydip Palm Print Tote Bag (£28) packs flat, wipes clean and will save your handbag from getting wrecked by sand and water.

Shell suitcase

We are more than a little in love with Away’s Carry-On (£225). Featuring an unbreakable shell, interior compartments, and built-in USB charger for your mobile devices, it ticks so many boxes.

Chic cover-up

Comfortable, yet chic, we’re coveting this tie-waist playsuit from Anthropologie (£58). Our (very Scottish) skin will thank us for keeping our shoulders covered.

A feel-good swimsuit

Bikinis are fun, but I like being able to sample the local food without worrying about post-lunch bloat – so a flattering swimsuit is a must! We’re crushing hard on this red V-neck number from & Other Stories (£45).

Statement jewellery

Bold jewellery will allow you to switch up your look, without having to pack too many different outfit options. Go for inexpensive styles, then it won’t matter so much if something gets lost enroute.  Minelli Bling Chandelier Earrings (£12).

Hot shades

When it comes to sunglasses, these are the ones that we really, really want – Percy by Finlay & Co (£120).

Good tunes

Being able to drown out the noise and listen to our favourite tunes helps us to relax while travelling. My headphones of choice are Happy Plugs (In-Ear White Marble £29.99). A word of warning to the fellow iPhone7 owners among you, don’t forget to pack your headphone jack adapter like I did for a recent flight to Madrid – aaah!

Happy travels! And don’t forget to tell us where you’re heading. Christina x
