Despite a bit of last minute drama (imagine having no dress a week before your wedding!), teenage sweethearts Clare & Paul still managed to have the relaxed, laughter-filled wedding of their dreams. Proving that it’s all about attitude – plus a top wedding team!

Love at first sight or gradual attraction?
Gradual attraction – We first met when I was 14 and Paul was 12, we had a common interest in playing football at the time. We lost contact for almost eight months, but once we got back in touch we never let go and we’ve been together for 15 years.
We were inspired by…
Making our day relaxing, so that family and friends could sit back and enjoy the celebrations.
How did you personalise your wedding day?
We took our time and researched every decision. Where we could, we added our own personal touch including tea light candles, handmade orders of service and plan cards. We also incorporated a map of Australia as our table plan, which represented the year we spent travelling together.
What was on your wedding menu?
Our starter was a choice of Lentil Soup or Melon and Passion Fruit Sorbet; Main was a choice of Chicken coated in a Pepper and Brandy Cream Sauce or Braised Rib Eye Steak coated in a Chasseur Sauce; Dessert was Sticky Toffee Pudding with Butterscotch Sauce and Ice Cream.

First dance – choreographed routine or sedate shuffle?
Sedate shuffle to Greatest Story Ever Told by Oliver James. The wedding party entertained themselves during the dancing, which we were completely obvious to until we watched our DVD.
What is your advice for future brides and grooms?
Plan and book everything as early as you can – that way you can relax and enjoy the lead up to you big day, the closer it gets. It also gives you time to deal with any dramas, should they arise.
Honeymoon or mini-moon?
Honeymoon – Two weeks in Riviera Myia, Mexico (a slice of paradise).
WHAT WAS THE ONE THING YOU’LL NEVER FORGET ABOUT YOUR BIG DAY?
The love we felt from all our friends and family. We both felt so blessed and it still makes me smile every time I think about our day.
WHY SCOTLAND?
We are both born and bred. It also meant that we could celebrate with all the special people who have shared in our life together so far.
