The RSVPs are coming in, the hair and makeup trials are booked, and the colour coded table plan is done (draft one at least!). With just a few weeks to go, Adele is feeling on top of the wedding planning world…
“I think these past few weeks have been my favourite time planning this wedding yet – rushing home to see what RSVPs we’ve had through the door, the lovely little comments everyone writes on them and the compliments we’ve had for the invite design by continues to make my day.
“We really have been blown away with the amount of ‘delighted to accepts’ already, with not a ‘regretfully decline’ in sight. With D-day end of February, I’m sure as the month goes by, there will be a few people we have to chase up but I thought this was going to be a lot harder to manage. I love taking my wee bundle of replies and updating our ever growing and life depending excel spreadsheet. This even got a re-vamp this month with fancy drop down selections and filters so it was easy to count totals for the buses. We may have overestimated on the bus front but sadly as it’s the same day as the Scottish Cup Final (it’s fast becoming a very popular date this!) we didn’t really have time to wait for all the replies and then book. But rather more than less!
“Table plan – Queue the A1 paper, a very large table surface and a glass of wine (plus a couple of family members to help with an impartial view). I didn’t really set out to draft the table plan when I did, it kind of just happened! I’m not sure if it’s insanely organised or a little sad that I know all 90 day guests off by heart! You hear this can initiate World War III, trying to decide will they speak to each other, will he get left out the conversations, is there too many big personalities at one table… and I think this makes every bride tremble with fear! But (and I still think it’s too good to be true) revision 1 of the Wiseman wedding table plan is complete! (Including a colour chart for all specific dietary requirements and where they are sitting – I think my caterer will be very impressed!).
“It has been a very productive trial planning month! I have been extremely fortunate getting my hair and makeup trials booked on the same day, so Pinterest is getting stalked daily for some inspiration at the moment! As is cutting out models, only from the shoulders up, for my scrapbook! Can’t wait to be pampered for a day and have a glimpse of how it will all look together. It would be the icing on the cake if my dress also arrives before this day and it really will be like a dress rehearsal.
“We’ve also managed to pencil in our pre-wedding shoot for next month. We are over the moon to have the amazing Suzanne Li be part of our day! Her photo collections are simply stunning and she knows our venue very well! I love having these trials as you can finally put a face to all those emails back and forth. And I think a pre-wedding shoot is a great idea to get to know each other before the big day and see how it all works! Plus we get to bring our ever so photogenic Frenchie along for the adventure as he will be part of the Big Day too! I will be sure to let you all know how it goes!
“March will also be an exciting time meeting our lovely caterer Carole from Lazy Sunday! We are going along to a tasting evening to try our gorgeous menu and meet the team! I can’t wait to sample Carole’s food, her pictures are like something food dreams are made of! And I know everyone will love the chilled, non traditional route we are going down!”
How exciting! Can’t wait to see the photos from the shoot – we love Suzanne’s work! x
Adele and Mark are planning a rustic, laid-back celebration that will be a true reflection of the two of them – think flowers, foliage, fairy lights, plus a BBQ and plenty of beer. They are getting married at The Byre At Incyra in Perthshire next May.
