Friday Loves

Anyone else feeling the winter blues starting to set in with the shorter days (is taking a snow day allowed when there is no snow)? Luckily, there have been some wonderful things happening in the world (and world of weddings), to make us feel the love. Here are a few of our favourites…

Love is Love

We were thrilled to hear that Australians had voted overwhelmingly in favour of legalising same-sex marriage this week. Here are some of our favourite reactions to the news (George + Luke = #couplegoals).

Quote of the Week

“Initially I hated Pete’s kilt, but… I realised that it was important to him and that it was one small detail of the day that he would want a say in, so I decided I could work with it. Plus our little boy looked super cute in a mini heirloom kilt that Pete had once worn himself!”

We love that Karen knew the family tartan was important to Pete, and ran with it. Inspired by wild, untamed flowers and a vintage look, their woodland-themed castle wedding made us all feel the love.

This week I’ve been mostly…

1: Discovering the Danish secret to happiness thanks to Sankt Peders Bakery, in Copenhagen, and their delicious cinnamon and brown sugar Snegles.
2: Sipping on rich and creamy Diplomático Venezuelan rum (it’s the perfect winter warmer!) in the hygge-tastic Hotel Danmark bar.
3: Drooling over the rock god that is Josh Homme – still pinching myself that we managed to get in the front row for this gig. If you’re going to see Queen Of The Stone Ages  in Edinburgh next week, you’re in for a total treat!
4: Getting some new ink (a black lightning bolt on my wrist), courtesy of the talented folks at Death or Glory.
5: Thinking that Scotland’s city planners could learn a thing or two from their Copenhagen counterparts. Being able to cycle around a big city without fear of getting squished is amazing!

And finally…

It was amazing to hear that We Fell In Love has been nominated in the UK Blog Awards this week, for the second year running. Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to put us forward for these prestigious awards. You, dear readers, are the best!
