Maybe it’s a throwback to the start of the academic year, but September always feels like a good time to start a project, learn a new skill or do a spring (autumn!) clean. I find it much easier to motivate myself when the leaves are changing colour, and the air is starting to crisp, rather than during the short, chilly days of January.
So it made perfect sense when I read that the French consider this to be the most optimistic time of the year – they call it ‘la rentrée‘. Rather than feel sad that summer is over (and let’s face it, we don’t exactly get many bikini days here in Scotland anyway!), here’s to embracing autumn and all it brings. And if that means ticking a few jobs off your wedmin list, all the better!
Run don’t walk!

A bit of a crush
This week we have been crushing hard on the Adornments Collection from Corrine Smith Design.
From halo style headdresses to intricate hairvines, Corrine Smith’s beautiful, lovingly made, bridal accessories send our inner magpie aflutter every time.
We are super proud to have her as part of our handpicked Wedding Collection, featuring Scotland’s finest wedding suppliers and venues.
Suppliers we heart
We’d also like to say a big WFIL welcome to Crieff Photography. Husband and wife team, Brian and Paula love telling wedding stories in a documentary style, and bring experience and a love of their craft to everything they do.
If you’re looking for a photographer with a natural, creative and contemporary style, then they could be the one for you.
Words of love

Five things I’ve been doing this week:
1: Listening to the Happier Podcast, where author Gretchen Rubin and her sister, screenwriter Elizabeth Craft share their top happiness tips. Their Power Hour suggestion – where you give yourself an hour to blitz through all the annoying little tasks you’ve been putting off – is a total game changer.
2: Making soup – so easy and yet so satisfying. Stirring vegetables into a giant pot and then serving them up with chunky bread is good for the soul. Fact.
3: Going conker hunting with my little girl. Not sure who was more excited to find them, her or me!
4: Looking forward to watching Marvel’s Defenders on Netflix – something to cheer up my Monday nights now that GOT is over. Sob!
5: Booking a beginners indoor climbing course. Wish me luck!
