Friday Loves

The sun is set to shine (hope we didn’t jinx it there!), festival time is here and the cocktails are flowing. Something tells us it’s going to be a good weekend! But first, a few of our favourite things this week…

Magpie alert

It’s no secret that we love a bit of sparkle here at WFIL, so you can imagine how giddy we got when we spotted this sneak peek from Rene Walrus’ new collection (left). Coming soon…

We’re also (still!) crushing hard on this Punk Victoriana Cuff by Euan McWhirter, and are excited to see what beauties the new autumn/winter collection will bring.

Quote of the week

Catherine and Michael’s wedding made us smile for so many reasons. Not only were they one of the first couples to get married in one of Scotland’s newest barn venues – The Barn at Barra Castle – but this part of their planning touched us all…

“One month after we became engaged my Gran was diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer. I would have loved for her to have been with me to choose my dress as we always bonded over well made clothes but she was too unwell to join us.

“Lorraine and Doreen made it possible for her to see me in my dress. This was so important to both myself, my mum and her, we knew she would not make our big day. I cannot put into words how heartbreaking that is/was to all concerned. The fact that she got to see me made everything slightly easier on the day, knowing that she loved it too.”

Not a dry eye in the office.

Five things…

…we’ll be doing this weekend…

1: Trying out the Copper Dog whisky cocktail (so many of our favourite things!) at the Edinburgh Cocktail Festival.
2: Resisting the urge (or not) to order these.
3: Binge-watching Series 2 of Top of the Lake.
4: Making wish lists of what to buy from the new Harry Potter range at Primark.
5: Having all the heart eyes for the incredible wedding photos you’ve been sending us!

Where will the weekend take you? Christina x
