Friday Loves

Is it just us, or would anyone else like to see a bit more of this heatwave that our friends down south keep talking about? But while the Scottish weather is yet to receive the memo that summer is here, July is still putting a smile on our faces in other ways. Here are a few highlights of our week…

Virtual travels

Thanks to our fabulous style blogger, Mette we were treated to a dose of sunshine and a bit of travel inspiration. Anyone else searching for flights to the Algarve round about now?

Feeling the love

On the hunt for your dream wedding venue? We are excited to report that we have two fantastic new additions to our handpicked Venue Collection.

First up, a big WFIL welcome to The Byre At Inchyra! WFIL brides (& grooms!) are full of praise for Inchyra, and the team’s passion for hosting weddings shines through. If you’re looking for a rustic venue that you can put your own stamp on, then be sure to check out this magical place.

And we’re also thrilled to welcome Craigellachie Hotel to the WFIL family! A small, country hotel with a big heart, this intimate, yet chic, wedding venue offers Highland hospitality at its very best. Set in the heart of beautiful Speyside, it’s sure to be a big hit with the whisky lovers!

Adele said yes to the dress!

In case you missed it, our lovely guest blogger Adele found the dress of her dreams. We can’t wait to see what she chose!

A beautiful love story

And finally, we were sad to hear this week that Auschwitz survivor Edith “Eci” Mackay – who married the Scottish soldier who rescued her from the Nazis during WWII – has passed away, at the age of 92.

Edith and John were married for 70 years and latterly lived together in a care home in Broughty Ferry, Dundee. They’re said to have “doted” on each other throughout their marriage, referring to each other as “sweetheart” every day. A truly inspirational love story.

We hope your weekend is full of love and laughter. And maybe, just maybe, a little sunshine too. Christina x
