Wine o’clock has well and truly stuck but we couldn’t dive headfirst into the weekend without first sharing a few of our favourite things. And be sure to join us over the next couple of days where we’ll be featuring a colourful and quirky vintage wedding, plus some top advice from our resident wedding stylist. But first, it’s Friday and we’re in love…
Botanical Headdress Workshop
If you love the idea of gathering your besties for a day of flower fun (and some fizz!), then be sure to check out this Botanical Headdress Workshop. The incredibly talented, not to mention rather lovely, Lisa Gaston of Floral Menagerie will be sharing her knowledge and skill, and providing the finest and freshest flowers, for you to create your own floral crown.
Looking for The One?
If you’d like to know more about having your own, bespoke wedding dress made then why not head along to the Wedding Open Day at the Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh this Sunday (June 25th). There the multi-award winning Freja Designer Dressmaking team will be showcasing their beautiful designs and answering all your questions.
The event is free to attend and is due to take place from 10am-2pm. You’ll also be able to look around the venue and meet other suppliers, including Liggy’s Cake Company, Roseparks and Reel Time Events – who we rate rather highly (you can find them in our handpicked Wedding Collection).
Our fifth birthday!
We can hardly believe it, but this month marks five years since we launched We Fell In Love! How is that even possible?!
With its breathtaking scenery, wonderful hospitality, incredible venues and super talented creatives and makers, we felt that Scotland really deserved its own, dedicated wedding blog. After several years in the Scottish wedding industry (as photographers), Alie and I gave up on trying to persuade others to start such a blog and finally decided to do it ourselves.
We launched We Fell In Love in 2012 and what an incredible journey it’s been so far! Since then we’ve given away over £50,000 worth of prizes in reader competitions, featured more than 500 beautiful and inspiring Scottish weddings, and launched our handpicked Wedding Collection.
And the best bit of all is that every day we hear from couples based in Scotland, the UK and as far afield as Australia, who say they simply couldn’t have planned their Scottish wedding without WFIL. On that note, be sure to join our new reader’s group over on FB if you’d like to be part of a lovely, supportive crew in the run up to your big day.
A huge thanks to everyone who has supported WFIL and helped made the last five years so much fun. We’re thinking a celebration may be in order…
Happy weekend lovelies! Hope the sun shines on you (but not as much as it did on this poor guy). Christina x
