Our Top 10 Wedding Photos Of April

Happy May Day! How is it possible that we’re already a third of the way through the year?! It’s been another beautiful month here on the blog – from castle weddings to nights at the museum to anniversary shoots, there has been lots to inspire. It’s been pretty tough to choose just 10 favourites, but here are our highlights of April…

1. Sarah and Andrew

From the scuba-diving proposal to their homely-with-a-touch-of-rustic wedding, Sarah & Andrew’s love story made us smile lots. Their Scottish Borders wedding was packed with pretty purples and greens, homegrown hydrangeas, tweed and tartan.

Their photos were incredible. And we especially loved this sparkler shot.

2. Audrey and Danny

Celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary, Audrey and Danny travelled to Scotland, organising an anniversary shoot with longstanding friend and photographer, Faith. As a surprise, Danny planned a vow renewal ceremony. Their love is inspiring. And they had some fantastic advice for all married folks too.

This photo says it all.

3. Cheska and Gordon

We loved the vintage vibe of this Scottish castle wedding. Inspired by the place they first met, Cheska and Gordon chose Glasgow Nightclubs as table names. The scene was set for one epic party…

This behind-the-scenes photo of the boys getting ready caught our eye.

4. Tom and Klaire

From a surprise proposal (live on Good Morning Britain no less) to a DIY wedding in a Scottish Castle, Tom and Klaire know how to celebrate in style. We loved their vision of spending a weekend with friends and family, with everyone ‘mucking in’…

And how sweet is this photo?! Anyone feeling extra excited to be experiencing that just married feeling now?

5. Helen and David

We loved getting to revisit Helen and David’s Stornaway wedding. From missing wedding favours to a dog gate-crashing the ceremony, not quite everything went according to plan. But they took it all in their stride and had a romantic island wedding that will be remembered for all the right reasons.

We loved this series of beautiful, backlit photos from their day.

6. Natalie and Alan

A winter wedding that was full of their favourite things was the vision for Natalie and Alan’s Edinburgh wedding. We loved the sparkle, seriously pretty flowers and country club setting.

And as for this intimate moment between the newlyweds. Be still our beating hearts!

7. Natalie and Angus

Natalie and Angus were married outside, in the rain, in a day that was so very them. From the tribal, thunderous drumming to the 80s hip hop action, we just loved their style.

This photo of Natalie dancing, not bothering one bit about the mud made us want to join the party. Our kind of bride!

8. Janet and Ewan

A “night at the museum with like-minded geeks” was how Janet and Ewan described their wedding. Inspired by childhood outings and a few of their favourite things – including Steampunk, rock music, comic books and Game of Thrones – their day was a true reflection of them.

And as for Janet’s dress and cloak! Designed and custom-made here in Scotland by Rinaldo Girasoli, they made our hearts skip a beat. And this photo perfectly shows just how Janet felt wearing them!

9. Jenna and Ross

From a proposal by a castle to a wedding at Kinkell Byre, overlooking the sea, Jenna & Ross’ love story was filled with romance and rustic charm. If you’re looking for barn wedding inspiration then be sure to check it out.

We loved all of the personal touches and rustic details. DIY done incredibly well. And wouldn’t this photo make a great album cover?

10. Nicola and Will

From the super pretty flowers to the romantic “swishy” dress, there was so much to love about Nicola and Will’s intimate Glasgow summer wedding.

Their expressions in this photo made us smile lots – the phrase bursting with happiness springs to  mind.

Huge thanks to all the wonderful couples and photographers who shared these Scottish love stories with us. We can’t wait to show you what we have lined up for May! Christina x

This is a wonderful selection, which really captures the variety of weddings that take place all the time. It’s great to see people putting their own personalities and personal twists on their days. Also we couldn’t agree more that the last couple look as if they are bursting with happiness.ReplyCancel
