Intimate Glasgow summer wedding

Nicola and Will brought all their favourite things (and people!) together to create a day that was full of personal touches. From the super pretty flowers to Nicola’s romantic “swishy” dress, there’s a whole lot to love! A beautiful way to kick off the weekend, we think you’ll agree!

Love at first sight?

We met whilst working together in a cafe/bar – it was my first job since leaving school and Will’s mum was the manager (I actually met all Will’s family before I met him which was super handy on reflection!!).

We were inspired by…

Just being us and bringing all our favourite things together – family, friends and personal touches.

I wanted romantic, pretty flowers featuring whites, pinks and of course a succulent or two!

We loved our first meeting with Hayley at Little Botanica – she just got it!

In the run up to the wedding, I was addicted to blogs and, of course, We Fell In Love!

Tell us about your venue…

We loved the intimate vibe and felt we could throw an amazing house party with all our friends and family in House No. 5. John and the team were absolutely outstanding; from the planning, to the menu tasting, to the day itself, we could not have asked for a better venue!

How did you choose your photographer?

We knew exactly the kind of photography style we wanted – laid back, relaxed and beautiful. Chantal and Scott (The Gibsons) were the first and only photographers we met and we clicked straight away; as we walked away from the coffee shop that November evening we knew instantly that we had to have Chantal and Scott photograph our big day.

We love your dress! Tell us more…

After trying on a few Stewart Parvin dresses, my mum and I tracked down Rachel Scott in Edinburgh as a stockist. We decided to road trip it through one Sunday morning, and I am so glad we did.

Rachel was amazing. I felt so at ease immediately and spent hours trying on lots of her beautiful dresses; leaving wanting not one but two Stewart Parvin dresses(!). I decided on the one which gave me “the feeling”; romantic, classic and swishy and the addition of a lace bolero and sparkly belt completed my look.

Slow shuffle or big number?

Our first dance was Ed Sheeran, “Tenerife Sea” – we love the song and it seemed so fitting as Will grew up in Tenerife.

Any advice?

Remember to breathe and enjoy it all. Planning a wedding can be very overwhelming so if things get stresssful just take a step back; the day itself really is over in the blink of an eye and I promise you will want to do it all over and over and over again, regardless of what went before!

What’s the one truly unforgettable thing about your wedding day?

We got married and it was the best day imaginable in every way!

I LOVE all the flowers! And those cakes – nom, nom nom… Christina x
