A lovingly-restored Scottish mansion house on the stunning Cowal Peninsula, in Argyll, was the setting for this romantic, timeless bridal shoot. A seriously pretty way to start the week, we think you’ll agree…
What was the inspiration behind the shoot?
At the heart of this session was our commitment to showcase each supplier’s enthusiasm and dedication to their profession, and to fly the flag for local Scottish businesses as a whole; to encourage current and future brides to search locally for their wedding needs.
We wanted the look of the session to be classic and true to the heritage that surrounds you at Knockdow, whilst remaining young and exuberant. It was almost an intentional reflection of the house’s history and its newly refurbished decor. Somehow, the contradiction of new and old, classic vs current, worked beautifully together.
There are so many pastel colour palettes in the wedding industry that we pushed ourselves to work with themes not normally seen together. The dark navy with pops of turquoise, and the elegant “Flame” orange and “Pink Yarrow” combination found in one of the bouquets, were a cheeky nod to this year’s 2017 Pantone colours.
Tell us more about the hair and makeup…
Makeup and hair was intentionally kept soft and romantic, but accessible and timeless. A soft curled down do, or an Audrey Hepburn inspired bun, kept things fresh and allowed makeup and other elements of the shoot to shine.
