You’re in for a total treat this Monday morning! Inspired by bohemian looks and a laidback vibe, this styled shoot made us swoon when it popped into our inbox. From the gold shimmery eye makeup to the floral crowns and feather stationery, there’s so much to be inspired by here…
What was the inspiration behind the shoot?
I wanted to produce a laid back, outdoor, bohemian inspired wedding/elopement shoot. Something elegant but slightly hippy and stylish – a little out of the ordinary. we wanted to show a beautiful Scottish, and particularly an Edinburgh location and showcase some gorgeous and talented suppliers while also showing couples… ‘Look what you can do, don’t be afraid to step a wee bit out of the wedding box!!’
Tell us about dressing the models…
Our aim was for a couple of different looks: a girly two piece, a cute playsuit with a cowboy edge and an elegant 70’s hippy crochet dress. Our groom was to be smart casual with some quirky wee braces and most importantly a good beard!
What was the inspiration behind the flowers?
We wanted to go big and unstructured with the flowers and, of course, include a few flower crowns (because who doesn’t love a flower crown?!!) It was important that the flowers didn’t look out of place against the wilder landscape in the background, almost like the bride had picked them herself.
And the makeup?
We wanted to really go for it with make up as so often brides seem to go quite safe with makeup on the big day. We went for gold shimmery eyes with a coral lip for the softer girly look and then added more smokiness to the eyes and a deep red glossy lip for the second look.
The cake looks amazing, tell us more…
We had to shoot the cake separately for a few reasons… It was so delicate to lug up the hills and due to how thin the layers of icing are if it started to rain it would begin to wilt! We did this in The Narcissus Flower School which was such a gorgeous location to shoot it. We wanted the cake to reflect the elegant, earthy look of the couple shoot. Sonnda created this gorgeous delicate ruffle cake with a hint of green ombre running through it and some sugar flowers to echo some from the bouquets. We loved the feather design of the stationery and thought the colours and style reflected the shoot perfectly.
I love these looks, especially the cowboy boots and playsuit combo! Which is your favourite? Christina x
