for destination brides
A little tip
for destination brides
When you’re getting married overseas (and even for those celebrating nearer home), it’s a sad fact that not all of your loved ones will be able to attend your wedding. So how can you make them feel included in the day?
One of the best pieces of advice I got when planning my wedding was to book a videographer. At the time I was a little thrown, as I hadn’t even thought of it until then – most wedding videos I’d seen in the past were super cheesy and full of hideous effects (plus really awful music). But as my husband is Canadian and not all of his family would manage to make it over to Scotland for our wedding, the idea of having something that would show the essence of the day really appealed. Luckily, we found a really talented filmmaker (who now specialises in horror films – hope he wasn’t inspired by us!) and nine years on we love sitting down on our anniversary, with our little girl, to watch the highlights of our wedding day.
Fast-forward a few years and just as wedding photography has evolved from mega traditional to incredibly creative, so too have wedding films become works of art. It’s hard to describe the emotion you will feel when you see your wedding film on screen for the first time, and the second, and the third… Prepare to have the tissues handy, that’s all we’re saying.
Today we have a fantastic offer for you from a highly-experienced, creative photography and cinematography team. First up, a big hi to all our Canada and US-based readers who are planning destination weddings in Scotland – we think you’ll especially love this!
The super-talented team at Focus Photography, Toronto LOVE to travel and Scotland is top of their wanderlust wish list. Their team of photographers and filmmakers cover a diverse range of weddings and pride themselves on capturing each day to the full, always striving to produce the best quality work. In 2015, they were awarded a WeddingWire Couple’s Choice Award for their “quality, service, responsiveness and professionalism”.
Focus are offering WFIL readers an amazing discount from their destination wedding team. If your wedding falls on a weekday, they are willing to head to Scotland and shoot your wedding for only $500 USD per artist (plus travel and accommodation). So for just $1500 USD (plus expenses), you could have a team comprising one photographer and two cinematographers covering your big day, and a beautiful collection of photos and a film to treasure forever.
