A charming former cowshed made the perfect blank canvas for today’s couple – Andrea & Kenny’s vintage style wedding is full of handmade details and personal touches. Add in lots of sunshine and smiles, and you’ll see why we couldn’t resist their super pretty autumn wedding.

Who saw who first?
We meet through friends in 2008 and quickly realised that we had very similar personalities. Our sense of humour brought us together! We got engaged in my parents’ house just after Christmas 2014, once Kenny was home from working overseas.
We were inspired by…
Our wedding day was inspired by us. All the things we love and everything that makes us who we are. Our themes were vintage and rustically handmade. We personalised our day with little touches here and there and thought it was important to do this and really make it our own.
We used WFIL for lots of inspiration and we were pleased to see our amazing photographers were one of your suppliers.
Tell us about your venue…
The Coo Cathedral is a beautifully restored former cow shed, full of charm. It really is a blank canvas that you can really go wild and fill with everything you like.

And something surprising about your day…
We were so lucky with lots of things, apart from the weather and it’s always a bit of a risk to have a wedding in Scotland in October. It poured with rain all morning and I was dreading standing for photos with umbrellas and all our guests getting drenched. Our luck continued though when the sun came out and allowed us to enjoy time outside with our guests and get our photos taken umbrella free!
How did the dress shopping go?
I fell in love with my dress straight away, it was the first one I really wanted to try on in the shop. I tried on many that day but kept wanting to put this one on again! It was just amazing and made me feel incredible. It fitted really well and had everything I wanted and more.
Any advice?
Our advice is to enjoy the planning and don’t let the stress take over. Everything falls into place and do as much as you can to really make it about the two of you.
Why Scotland?
Scotland is our home and our favourite place.
What’s the one truly unforgettable thing about your wedding day?
How Kenny looked at me and how lucky I felt.

FloristDolce Vita Flowers. Linsey at Dolce Vita is one of our friends so it was a very easy choice and process. We wanted a vintage feel with the flowers and even though some of the flowers we asked for were not usually available, they pulled out all the stops for us! The flowers really brought our venue to life and we loved them all so much! My bouquet was a dream and better than I could have imagined.
