With Independence Day just around the corner, we thought the time was just right to head Stateside and revisit this incredible American-Scottish wedding. We love it when a little bit of Scotland makes its way to the other side of the world. And with lots of sparkle, kilts and a whole lot of love, something tells us you’ll enjoy this #ThrowbackThursday post too.

Love at first sight or gradual attraction?
Gradual attraction – our friendship started after many evenings of sharing our favourite beer together while sitting at an outdoor patio of our favourite restaurant, Brugge. Shortly after, we started dating and three years later, we married. We still fall in love with each other daily.
How was the question popped?
Graham proposed to Jaymee during the annual Christmas event at the Indianapolis Zoo.

Wedding Style?
Hybrid of American Modern and Traditional Scottish Wedding…bringing the best of both worlds together.
Any unexpected moments?
One of the bridesmaids tripped and fell in a water fountain. Fortunately, her hair was saved and the dress quickly dried before the ceremony.
What made your day special?
We were blessed to have a very unique and personal ceremony from a life long family friend of the Groom. We were surprised how many people were touched by our ceremony. We danced the night away 5 floors up on an outdoor terrace overlooking downtown Indianapolis. Our guests loved the atmosphere and dancing!
Honeymoon or Mini-Moon?
Honeymoon – we went to St. Lucia for 8 days of relaxation and fun!.

Close your eyes and think of your wedding day. Now – describe it in three words…
Elegant, meaningful, and exciting
What’s the link with Scotland?
The McIntyre’s are from Scotland and moved to the United States in 1997. They continue to take pride in their history and love going back to Scotland to visit the rest of their family.
Favourite thing about being hitched?
Not planning a wedding ☺ Being able to enjoy one another and plan our future together.

I love the idea of dancing under the stars, 5 floors up, looking down on the city. Have you booked a venue with a view? Alie x
