at Glencorse House

Today’s featured couple met in the truly modern way – online. Inspired by the bride’s favourite colour and her obsession with butterflies, their country house wedding was full of uber-pretty DIY details. Monika & Harry, we absolutely love your wedding style.

Who saw who first?
We met each other online, Harry wrote first.
We were inspired by…
Monika’s favourite colour – purple, her obsession with butterflies and romantic shabby chic.
How did you personalise your wedding day?
Most of the crafts were done by us, including the table settings and arrangements, and decorations. We had a Humanist ceremony – it was very personal, scripted by us.
What was on your wedding menu?
Starters : Roast ham with fresh fig, roast butternut squash & ginger soup, deep fried artichokes stuffed with brie. Mains: Chicken with Brie, pink peppercorns &scream, spinach & goat cheese filo pastries with sweet red pepper sauce. Desserts: White chocolate cheesecake with salted Carmel sauce or whiskey cream Banoffee pie.

First dance – choreographed routine or sedate shuffle?
Ed Sheeran’s Kiss me – we didn’t practice a routine.
What is your advice for future brides & grooms?
Just enjoy it! Time passes so quick, it’s so hard to please everyone. Enjoy every second of it, it’s your day, make it the best day of your life.
Where did you spend your wedding night?
Coachman’s Cottage , Kirklands – most romantic place around Edinburgh, plus the most helpful owners.
Why Scotland?
Harry is from Edinburgh and I’ve spend most of my adulthood here, we couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else.
What’s the one thing you’ll never forget about your big day?
The atmosphere – so relaxed, loving, magical.

Hi Ilaria, we received this message from Monika – “Unfortunately I don’t know where the earrings are from, my husband bought them for me for Xmas before we’ve got married and he didn’t keep the email from the website.”

You could maybe try looking for something similar on etsy? They have lots of lovely jewellery. And we are huge fans of Corrine Smith Design too.

      Hope that helps!ReplyCancel
