What started as a Vegas wedding dream (for the bride at least), evolved into an elegant city ceremony followed by a tipi party on a Scottish farm, bursting with DIY details (we especially love the floral wellies!), and country style. And did we mention that there are dogs too? And a barbecue feast! So much to love here…

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT OR GRADUAL ATTRACTION?
Gradual attraction (sorry Gregor!).
We were inspired by…
Our love of the great outdoors – we are rarely inside the house! The tipis worked really well in this respect and looked fantastic in the field behind the house.
How did you personalise your wedding day?
By organising everything ourselves, with lots of help from family & great friends!!
What was on your wedding menu?
Lots of great BBQ food & some really nice wine!

First dance – choreographed routine or sedate shuffle?
Completely freestyle as neither of us can dance!! The band did a ceilidh version of Calvin Harris’ tune ‘Feel So Close’ which was brilliant!!!
What is your advice for future brides??
Have a list and if people offer to help then let them, don’t try to do it all yourself. Also, try to get to bed early the night before and enjoy every minute of the day as it will fly by!!
Where did you spend your wedding night?
At the Chester Hotel in Aberdeen – it was super!
What was the one thing you’ll never forget about your big day?
Walking out of the chapel with Gregor on my arm.
Why Scotland?
I got quickly voted out of a Vegas wedding, so where better than the place you live and love. I am glad I was voted out of Vegas as our wedding was just perfect for us. I will get Gregor to Vegas eventually though!!

I have a thing for tipi weddings, please send us MORE! And maybe it’s the farm girl in me, but those wellies are genius. Christina x
