City Chic Wedding
46 days to go
How can it be Wednesday again so soon? In this week’s #WFILwedding update, we welcome guest blogger (AKA best man) Stuart with Susan and Al. Read on and discover a week filled with pre-wedding shoots, concerts and vow-work…
“Now most of the big decisions have been made and we’re both sorted out with dresses, we’ve been able to focus on some of the other tasks that require more thought, such as, our vows!
“The humanist celebrant, Linda, gave us some homework to do and we’re just getting round to it now. We’ve picked a couple of readings to be read by my dad and Susan’s friends, Claire and Lucy. Both readings should get a laugh and will hopefully set the tone for the day!”
“We have arranged our pre wedding photo shoot with Chantal and Scott for this week. We’re going to meet up at Mugdock Country Park so fingers crossed we get some decent weather for it. I think we should watch Zoolander beforehand and practice our ‘Blue steel’ look!”
A spot of relaxing in London. A new item for the gift list?
“We escaped wedding planning for a few days over the weekend. For Christmas, I bought Susan tickets to see her favourite band, ‘The National’, at Hyde Park. We travelled down on the train (a day later than normal after it was cancelled on Wednesday) and stayed with my friend Rich from university and his girlfriend Jen. They were excellent hosts and didn’t get bored of our wedding chat. Or at least they didn’t let on that they were bored! The concert was great fun and we managed to avoid the rain.
We also met up with my aunt and cousins, Susan’s brides man Ryan and my friends Kieran and Maria. It was a pretty busy weekend but it still felt relaxing! Susan tried out a full body massage chair in Harrods. I didn’t think she was ever going to get out of it! She has now decided that she needs one and that we should add it to the gift list….!”
Al as bestman at Stuart’s wedding last year. Revenge is sweet so they say…
“My other best man Stuart has written a few words for the blog…
Stuart: “My name is Stuart and I am one of Al’s best men. I have known Al since we were 5 making our friendship now a quarter century long which doesn’t make me feel old at all (as I type whilst wiping away a tear).”
Al was my bestman at my wedding last year and I am honoured to be his this year. I know Al is slightly worried about my revenge for his stag do after the outfit he made me wear at mine…… And he should be ;)”
Time to start focusing on the wedding vows. Anyone got any top tips for Susan and Al? Alie x
