City Chic Wedding
Prepare for a pretty overload – our #WFILwedding winners Susan and Al have been choosing their flowers and frocking up the wee folk this week. But the quest for a very big white dress continues…
We met Nick from Mood Flowers
this week. We both really enjoyed visiting the warehouse, he showed us some flowers the team were putting together for another wedding and they were gorgeous! We’re going to go for flowers in shades of pinks and ivory, with some foliage. He’s thought of all the little details, included fresh petals for the flower girls, in the prize! He’s going to send me a bouquet in early August using the flowers we chose and I’m really excited to see it.
The flower girl dresses have arrived and one was sent out to Aspen for Al’s 4 year-old niece Ainsley to try on. She loved it and looks so cute! Our other flower girl Lucy, my god daughter, had a similar response and didn’t want to take it off!
On Saturday myself and Al, and Al’s parents Janice and Alan drove up to Inverness to meet my parents, Linda and Willie. My dad had made a curry for everyone which went down a storm and the mums bonded over a few sherries! The next day we went for a nice walk in Glen Affric. Al’s mum Janice has fond memories of a childhood family holiday nearby in Cannich, and she enjoyed visiting it again, although it has changed a lot!
Family friends Kate and Allan have offered us their car to use on the wedding day, which is very kind of them. We popped over to measure it up for ribbons but Kate was away that day with the car so we used Allan’s other car to check the size of the ribbon – we need to buy more!
My bridesmaid Kirsty has now confirmed the plans for my hen do – 12 of us are going to a beautiful five star house in Kenmore. It has a hot tub and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. My Aunt Marie is flying over from Australia for the wedding and will be here in time for the hen weekend, so it’s great that she can come too and get to know the rest of the hens before the wedding!
Al’s search for a dress for the big race continues… he’s not been able to track down a dress which fits yet! However, we both love a challenge and I have no doubt that this will not defeat us! The race is on the 3rd August, so there is still time.
Can you help Al find a white dress? He pledged to run 10k in a wedding dress if he and Susan won their dream wedding! His vital stats are: Chest 44″; Waist 35″; Height 6′ 8″. #FindAladress Christina x
