City Chic Wedding

Stags and sparkles

It’s been another big week for our competition winners, Susan and Al. From getting preparations underway for Al’s stag do to kitting out the junior members of the wedding party, it’s been all go. We caught up with our groom-to-be for all the latest news.

“I met with my two best men on Friday evening. I chose my two oldest friends, Stuart and Graeme, and I think it works in their favour to have someone to share the workload – given the short time frame! We discussed ideas and possible destinations and Susan’s stipulations! She has made them promise that I must be returned with hair and eyebrows intact. I was hoping she might have said something about no embarrassing outfits, tattoos or nudity. I’m concerned I have some revenge coming my way after I dressed Stuart up in neon hot pants, vest top and headband for his stag do last year.

Al is starting to feel a little nervous that his stag do may involve any of the above.
“On Saturday, Susan went to Kilmarnock to meet up with Corrine Smith and choose her bridal accessories. She won’t tell me what she chose but she did say she absolutely loved what she picked. Afterwards she met up with some of her friends who will be at the wedding to celebrate the imminent arrival of her friend’s (also called Susan!) first baby. They all enjoyed tea and cake and discussing weddings and babies!

Susan and the girls enjoy a civilised catch up over tea and cake.
“On Monday, we visited the Humanist celebrant Linda Britton. We were delighted when we discovered there was a Humanist celebrant included in the prize as it was exactly what we would have chosen. Linda is lovely and has conducted ceremonies at Arta before. She asked us a few questions to get some details for the ceremony. She also sent us away with some homework! We’ve to think about our vows and send her our background stories.
“This week the flower girl dresses arrived too, and Susan’s god daughter, Lucy refused to take it off, she loved it so much! Also my nephew Harrison got fitted for his little kilt, he’s only two and just looked adorable!”

It’s so exciting hearing how everything is coming together each week for Susan and Al. And how cute does little Harrison look in his kilt?! Christina x
