at Dundas Castle

Edinburgh-Scotland

An exclusive-use Scottish castle was the romantic backdrop for an intimate winter wedding full of 1920s flair. Don’t you just love Taryn & Glenn’s elegant wedding style?

Love at first sight or gradual attraction?
We met when we were very young. I was 15 and Glenn was 19. We met through friends and became friends ourselves. We got together in 2002 (I was 19 and Glenn 23), and have loved and cherished every day since!
How was the question popped?
On the 2nd of December 2011, Glenn got down on one knee in the beautiful surroundings of Number One Restaurant in the gorgeous Balmoral Hotel, on our 9 Year Anniversary. It was so romantic and took me completely by surprise.
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue?
Old: Spray on glitter from Loccitane; New: Jewellery; Borrowed: Sixpence from my friend to put in my shoe; Blue: My shoes!

Best compliment on your wedding?
One of our friends said it was “the most perfect day ever”.
Honeymoon or Mini-Moon?
Honeymoon – we went to Thailand (Koh Samui) for two weeks.
Wedding style?
Elegant with a hint of 1920s flare.
Did you embrace or ditch tradition?
We ditched tradition! We made it a day about us, personal and very intimate.
