A love of books and the 1920s inspired an intimate wedding full of colour and style. We love Lita & Martin’s glamorous Glasgow wedding and think you will too…

WE WERE INSPIRED BY…
I love all things vintage and the 1920s was a big source of inspiration for us.
HOW DID YOU PERSONALISE YOUR WEDDING DAY?
We wanted more than anything else a very small and personal affair. For the centres of the tables we made book boxes with pictures from our engagement shoot (same photographers) and I also sell shaped teabags and themed tea gifts at craft fairs, so we opted for some love letter tea style favours.
WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE FOR FUTURE BRIDES & GROOMS?
I never thought of myself as one of those bridezilla types that become obsessed with their wedding, and (I hope…) I managed to avoid it. I enjoyed the whole process so much more than I thought I would once we got into the fun, creative side of it (in fact I loved the whole process so much I’ve started my own events business – Blossoming Falls!).
But I think a lot of that was down to wisely choosing venues with amazing staff such as Pollok House, and all the lovely creative businesses we found along the way. Especially Florettes, who gave us the most amazing flowers with next to no notice. I loved them so much I’m planning to have one of our pictures of the bouquets printed onto silk scarves.

WHAT WAS ON YOUR WEDDING MENU?
I barely remember the dinner to be honest! That’s one thing I delegated to my mum to organise, although it was very good.
FIRST DANCE – CHOREOGRAPHED ROUTINE OR SEDATE SHUFFLE?
We had been to dancing lessons before, more so that we knew how to properly dance, but there was no strict routine as such – we just managed to avoid the shuffle!
WHERE DID YOU SPEND YOUR WEDDING NIGHT?
One Devonshire Gardens.

WHAT WAS THE ONE THING YOU’LL NEVER FORGET ABOUT YOUR BIG DAY?
It was exactly how we wanted it – informal and stress free, with everyone having a good time! We had so much fun with friends (some of whom we hadn’t seen for a LONG time) and close family all together in the one place. What I won’t forget was the warm happy feeling of the day, which I really felt our photographers captured for us.
Why Scotland?
Glasgow is so beautiful, with such a range of different locations – you are spoilt for choice! I couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere apart from home.
