Samantha and Ashley fell in love with the Isle of Skye after their first holiday together. What better place for them to bring family and friends to help celebrate their wedding?

Who saw who first?
I saw Ashley first.
We were inspired by…
The Scotish Highlands, with all its beauty it made us want to get married on Skye and have our closest friends and family enjoy the island.
How did you personalise your wedding day?
We decided to get married at Dunvegan castle and spread the wedding over three days, with the Ceremony at the Castle on Friday the 5th, followed by the reception at the Skeabost Country House Hotel then we had a large reception back home with guests and family that couldn’t make it up to Scotland.

What was on your wedding menu?
Starter – Ham Hock Terrine; Main – Chicken with clamshot whisky sauce; Dessert – Mango Cheesecake
First dance – choreographed routine, or sedate shuffle?
We had a practice but not sure if you could tell by the dance so I would say sedate shuffle.
What is your advice for future brides and grooms?
Take a private moment as a couple just 10 minutes to reconnect on the big day and always remember the big picture and why you are there in the first place.

Where did you spend your wedding night?
At our family house on the Isle Of Skye.
What is the one thing you’ll never forget about your wedding day?
The amount of friends and family that made the long journey up to join us on our special day.
Why Skye?
Ashley and I had our first holiday as a couple on the Isle of Skye and have been coming up for years now, we both have fallen in love with the island so it seemed right to get married here.
There’s something so amazing about having your friends and family travel distances to celebrate your wedding. What’s the furthest one of your guests has travelled? Alie x
