72 days to go…
With just over 10 weeks to go until their big day, Lois and Matthew, the winners of the #WFILwedding competition are starting to feel the pressure! This week, Lois took a little time out from paperwork & preparations (not to mention being a mum to three), to let her hair down at her future sister-in-law’s hen weekend.
“This week Matthew and I have been looking for wedding rings, organising the wedding licence and booking buses! It’s really hard juggling babies and trying to plan a wedding in such a short time. Whenever I speak to wedding suppliers, they look at me like I am crazy, getting married in 10 weeks and having so little planned!!”
“I’ve been away on a fantastic hen weekend. The bride-to-be is Deborah, who is marrying Matthew’s brother, Barrie on November 30th, the week after our wedding!
“We took the train to Edinburgh on Friday – the theme was black, bling and barnets for the journey! We went out for lunch and then on to the apartment we had booked to stay at. The evening theme was angels and devils, and we were served drinks by a ‘buff butler’. It was hilarious!! That was followed by dinner and several more drinks!
“On Saturday, we started the day with a Champagne lunch at Harvey Nichols. We did some shopping, followed by a Dirty Dancing masterclass where we learned dances to two songs from the film. We had such a blast!!!
“In the evening, there was a Sex and the City theme, so we dressed to the nines and hit the town. We had a cocktail masterclass, a three course dinner and then partied till the wee hours! On Sunday we went out for lunch and did some more shopping, before heading home.
“It made me get so excited for my own hennie. My wonderful bridesmaids have organised me a surprise day in October. I’m so excited to see what surprises they have in store for me!”
“This week we bought our bridesmaids’ dresses, which are white! I’m having four bridesmaids – Meleia, Mel, Lyndi and Jenni. We also got the shoes and dresses for our flower girls. I’m having my two little princesses as flower girls and they are also wearing white dresses, with tulle, a bit like a tutu style!
“On the agenda for the week ahead is to finalise our guest list and get our invitations started.”
I love the sound of the Dirty Dancing masterclass and the Sex and the City dress code for the night out that followed. What would be your ideal hennie activity? Christina x
