From a romantic proposal in Edinburgh’s city centre, to a wedding day that was packed full of personal details and vintage styling, this is Heather and John’s love story…
Love at first sight or gradual attraction?
Love at first sight.
How was the question popped?
On a trip to Edinburgh with our friends, John made a banner saying ‘marry me??’, we went to Princes park and our friends held the banner up whilst John got down on one knee. Everyone in the park clapped, it was amazing.
SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW, SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING BLUE?
Old – lucky sixpence, new – dress, borrowed – underskirt blue – blue bow on garter.
ANY UNEXPECTED MOMENTS?
After the speeches, the bridesmaid had organised a slideshow of pictures of John and I throughout the years with funny captions. we didn’t know about it and it was really funny. Also John wrote a poem for me that he read during his speech, which was very romantic!
BEST COMPLIMENT ON YOUR WEDDING?
Everyone loved all our little details – the teacup favours, the tea pots on the tables, the face props at the evening reception for pictures, birdcage for cards and candles
Honeymoon or mini-moon?
Honeymoon – Riviera Maya, Mexico
