at Edinburgh Castle

Scotland is a pretty special spot for a destination wedding – of course we’re bias, so here’s a tale of a couple from Jordan who picked Edinburgh as the spot for their wedding. We think it may just inspire you…

And here’s how they planned it…
Rana and Hamish planned an intimate wedding ceremony and reception. They wed in Edinburgh Castle’s St Margaret’s Chapel and nibbled on canapés, cut the cake and sipped champagne in the ante room of the Queen Anne Hall. Their wedding celebrations continued at home in London with a big pre Christmas celebration and another in Jordan for New Year where both Rana and Hamish’s families are from.
What was the wedding day like?
It was a rather cold December afternoon (around minus 5 degrees), but Rana, sister Muna and Mum Athina kept warm with their lovely coats (purchased at Portobello Road Market). Rana couldn’t stop smiling and was a trooper braving the cold and the hundreds of tourists at the Castle to get some lovely sunkissed pictures outside. It was such a gorgeous winters day.

The two vintage cars caused quite a stir driving through the castle grounds, and a lovely addition to the day. Rana and Hamish’s phones were buzzing away non stop on their way back to the Balmoral with congratulatory facebook messages and emails.
