From instant attraction at an 18th birthday party, becoming a couple at a 21st, it was only right that Lynsey and Graham’s celebrated their wedding in style with one fantastic party…

Love at first sight, or gradual attraction?
Instant attraction but took us 3 years to become a couple! I met Graham when I was 18 at a birthday party, my brother introduced us. We began to become friendly over the years and Graham finally asked me on to go our first date the night of my 21st birthday celebration.
We were inspired by…
We aimed for a shabby chic romantic vintage feel. Soft colour palette of ivories, dusky pinks and soft greens with a zing of burgundy that really popped. We wanted laid back atmosphere that everyone would relax, enjoy and feel comfortable throughout the day.
How did you personalise your wedding day?
We personalised all the men’s favours for the top table by getting them all engraved with their role of the day, e.g. Father of the Bride/Groom, Best Man etc… their names and wedding date on them. I got Champagne flutes made for the bridal party to have throughout the day, their role on the wedding day was hand painted in the colours of the Bridesmaid dresses with matching coloured stems on the flutes. All the favours for the top table were personalised with button badges, mine saying I heart the Groom, Graham’s saying I heart the Bride, bridal party’s badges saying either Team Bride or Team Groom. I organised toiletry baskets for the guests to use in the bathrooms consisting of deodorants, hairspray, tablets, plasters, hair bobbles/grips mints, personalised wedding sweets etc, all the guests loved it – there was hardly anything left, especially in the boys toilets!
First dance – choreographed routine, or sedate shuffle?
Our first dance was to “Without You” (Glee Cast Version – I’m a self confessed GLEEK!) A slowed down version of the song by Usher and David Guetta. We did a bit of choreography ourselves for the first part of the song before all the guests would join in.
What is your advice for future brides and grooms?
Enjoy planning your big day! It comes round so fast so try to be well organised so that you have plenty of time to compensate for little mishaps that may occur close to your wedding date. Everyone says that your wedding day will fly by, but I never expected it to go as fast as it did, so enjoy every single minute and second of it!
What is the one thing you’ll never forget about your big day?
I will remember a number of things from our wedding day, it was full of so many memorable moments, there was so much happiness shared with all our family friends its hard to pin point one thing. Although one part that has stuck with me so clearly was when I walked down the aisle and my husband whispered, “Wow, you look beautiful” when I reached the alter.
We love that Lynsey is a self-confessed Gleek! What guilty pleasures are you going to incorporate to your wedding day?
