Royal Deeside was the scenic setting for this elegant country house wedding. With the beautiful surroundings, bespoke Humanist ceremony and table names based on Louise & Alan’s travels, it was an enchanting day.

We were inspired by?
I had a clear idea of what I wanted our wedding to look like. I did look at magazines and blogs, but the initial ideas I had when we first got engaged 18 months ago were pretty much the same as what we had on the day. Black and white touches with lots of candles and hydrangeas!
HOW DID YOU PERSONALISE YOUR WEDDING DAY?
We chose to have a Humanist ceremony as I loved that it allowed us to tell our guests a little more about us, how we became a couple and our engagement. Our table names were also named after the countries we have visited together.
FIRST DANCE? CHOREOGRAPHED ROUTINE OR SEDATE SHUFFLE?
Last Request – Paolo Nutini, it was definitely not choreographed!
WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE FOR FUTURE BRIDES?
Be organised! Don’t leave things to the last minute or hope they will fall in place, they probably won’t. As I was organised I could enjoy the run up to the wedding with my family and bridesmaids and not spend time running about panicking.
WHAT WAS THE ONE THING YOU’LL NEVER FORGET ABOUT YOUR BIG DAY?
We hired the venue out for the weekend, so the whole experience was amazing but probably my favourite part was when we saw each other for the first time. The realisation that after all the planning it was finally here and we were lucky enough to share it with all the people that mean the most to us.
WHY SCOTLAND?
We always knew we would get married in Scotland, it is home and there is nowhere else like it!
We love the classic elegance of Louse & Alan’s wedding and their black & white colour scheme. What do you love most?
