St Andrews-Scotland

Cream, silver and pale pink were the colours of choice for an elegant, timeless wedding on the east coast of Scotland.

How was the question popped?
On the bow of a yacht under the Caribbean moonlight – it was very romantic!
Something new, something borrowed, something blue?
‘Something new’ certainly outweighed them all: the dress, the veil and most of the jewellery. My something blue was an aquamarine ring my mother gave me and my something borrowed were my wedding shoes, which a friend with the same shoe size lent to me. They fit with the dress better than any I could find in the shops.
Any unexpected moments?
Yes, the weather surprised us! It had been horrible for weeks, but the sun came out on the wedding day. It meant we could go down to the beach and through the sand dunes.
Did you embrace or ditch tradition?
Embrace – it was nice having all the traditional touches.
Honeymoon or mini-moon?
Honeymoon – we went to Mauritius. It was very relaxing and we would recommend a relaxing break after the big day to anyone – you’ll be in need of it and glad you didn’t book that action-packed holiday after all.
Why Scotland?
St Andrews is a beautiful, well-known town on the sea with a lovely beach, amazing views and beautiful church. We felt it was a place our guests would appreciate, especially as many of them were travelling to Scotland, including many from overseas.
