Isle of Mull-Scotland

The remote, rugged landscape of the Isle of Mull was the perfect setting for this romantic outdoor wedding ceremony. The brief? Ensuring all their guests had the time of their lives…

Love at first sight, or gradual attraction?
There was definitely an attraction from the start, but as neither of us were really looking for a relationship so you could say it was more of a gradual attraction. Matt disappeared off to Nepal to do the Everest Base Camp climb for three weeks, and then back to his native Australia for two weeks just after we met so the time apart really made it hit home for both of us.
How was the question popped?
We booked a trip to New York over New Year 2010/2011. At one point we thought that we would need to cancel as the snow was so bad New York literally shut down. Luckily we were the first flight from Heathrow to JFK. Matt proposed outside of the United Nations Building.
Any unexpected moments?
The celebrant calling to say that the Best Man hadn’t collected her from Craignure ferry terminal only to find out he had been parked across the road from where she was standing for 40 minutes – Crisis Averted!
Close your eyes and think of your wedding day…now – describe it in three words…
Exceeded all expectations
Why Scotland?
It’s the perfect place to get married. We love the outdoors and Scotland has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, we both wanted to showcase this as part of our wedding. You can spend your whole life living in the same country and never experience or value what is right under your nose.
Favourite thing about being hitched?
David Cameron promising tax benefits for married couples…….On a serious note, knowing that we have committed to spending our lives together and sharing this great journey along the way!
